Until 2018, Indiana was 1 of nearly a dozen U.South. states to ban all Sunday booze sales outside of confined and restaurants. That ban was repealed when Senate Pecker 1 was signed by Gov. Eric Holcomb on February 28, 2018.[1] Effective March four, 2018, convenience stores, grocers, and liquor stores may sell alcohol from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sundays[two] and after seven:00 AM on Mondays.
Effective July 4, 2010, beer sold in microbreweries may be sold on Sundays pursuant to Senate Bill 75. The sales must have identify where the brewing is washed. However, off-site sales may take identify in trade shows and similar back door events.[3]
A beer dealer shall non be entitled to sell beer and deliver beer for carry-out, or for delivery to a customer's residence or office, in a quantity that exceeds eight hundred 60-four (864) ounces in a single transaction.[4] The limit for grocery or drug store retailers is 864 ounces, or fifteen cases, of beer and xv standard cases of wine.[5] [6]
In Indiana, alcohol may be sold simply to those 21 years of age or older during all hours except 3:00 AM to vii:00 AM from Tuesday to Sabbatum.
Grocers, convenience stores and pharmacies are not allowed to sell common cold beer, although liquor stores may do then.[7]
Establishments that sell beverages by the "drink" must accept food service for 25 persons at a minimum (hot soups, hot sandwiches, coffee, milk, and soft drinks) available at all times. It is unlawful for establishments to provide discounts on alcohol to sure customers or at certain times of day (due east.g., during "happy hour") that are not available to everyone.[8]
Sale or serving of alcoholic beverages from 3 a.m. Christmas Day until seven a.1000. December 26 was banned until HB 1542 was passed in 2015.[9]
Indiana is not an alcoholic drinkable control state.
Public intoxication is a form B misdemeanor in Indiana. Merely being intoxicated in public is not a violation. One must either be endangering one's own life, someone else'south life; breaching the peace or in imminent danger of breaching the peace; or is harassing, abrasive or alarming another person.[ten]
